From the Pastor’s Heart: We need each other. That’s one thing about the church that I appreciate so much. When you are an active part of the body of Christ you have a family you can turn to in the time of need. I often have people that seem to randomly call or come by the office and ask for financial help in one way or another. For most of these requests I have to tell them, I’m sorry but we have to help our family first. There are rare occasions when we can have an exception to that rule, but for the most part it is family first. When you who are a part of our family have a need, make sure that you let us know. If we want to be like the early church, then we will be generous in making sure that the needs of the body are met. Pray for those who make up “The Church Council” as we meet for an extended session this Saturday and plan for the future of our church. We will be celebrating our 90th Anniversary on September 25th and we are thankful for all that God has done in and through Calvary. We need to do more than just look back, we need to look ahead and ask God what He would have us to do in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. I’m thankful for a people that love God and each other and want to impact the world for Christ. The Best is Yet to Come, Pastor Don
