From the Pastor’s Heart: I’m not sure about you but I still get excited when I hear the Star Spangled Banner. I get emotional when I hear and sing “God Bless America”. I’m so thankful for a country where we have the freedoms that we enjoy. Our choir is reminding us about the symbols of our freedom. Next Sunday morning, July 5th I’ll be preaching a message entitled “Free at Last” and it is my prayer that you will be here to hear it. I’m excited to be serving as your new pastor and it is my desire to get to know each and every one of you. I’d like to sit down and hear you tell your story. Let me know when we can get together. Call the church office and set up an appointment or let me know if you would like for me to visit you in your home. I know God is going to do great things in and through our church. The Lord willing, starting on July 12th I will continue a series I started on May 3rd by preaching through the book of James. The theme of James is that faith works and if we are going to expect God to do something in our midst then we are going to have to trust and obey. I plan to preach a ten part series on Sunday nights called “The Red Sea Rules”. These are lessons we can learn about faith from the children of Israel in the Old Testament. It is my hope and desire that you will be here for every service unless you are providentially hindered or out of town. Please pray that God will do something supernatural in our church that can only be explained by saying that God did it. I’m so thankful for the confidence that you have placed in me calling me as your pastor and I believe that God has great things in store for us in the days ahead. Pray that God will lead, guide and provide for Marie and me as we transition to our new home in Missouri. This would include both our housing situation and the right opportunity for Marie as a therapist. Thanks for your prayers. Yours for Kingdom Growth, Pastor Don
