It seems to me the more that I observe people that there are few who are genuinely content with what they have. So many are looking for their next opportunity so hard that they are missing the mark in making a difference where they are. I've tried to live with the thought of "bloom where you are planted" and "God has you there for a reason.
So many times it's economics that cause people to be discontent. Remember there will always be someone who has more but more is not necessarily what you need. I'm reminded of these verses of scripture:
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
If we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. I Timothy 6:6-8
But seek first the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Matthew 6:33
I see many people who have great needs but I also see some that have very little yet are satisfied with what God has provided. If you have more than you need then look for opportunities to be generous. If you lack in some basic necessity then seek the King and HIS kingdom and watch God provide. We each have a choice to be content and to be a giver rather than a taker. Which will you be?
Content in Christ,
