Jesus said to Martha, the sister of Lazarus, "I am the resurrection and the life, whoever lives and believes in me shall never die..." then He asked the question, "Do you believe this?" That is the most important part of Easter, what difference does the resurrection of Christ make in your life? We must first of all place our absolute faith and trust in Christ as the crucified and resurrected Lord and then we need to walk in that resurrection power. This ONLY comes through obedience to the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. Don't tell me about your faith if you can't show me your faith through your obedience. Now it is important NOT to get the cart before the horse. First we place our faith in Christ, then we follow Him because of our faith.
The resurrection power is the power of the Holy Spirit that gives us the ability to obey. Are you trusting in the resurrected Christ and then living in obedience to Him? Because He Lives, Pastor Don

The reason we should be in church somewhere this Sunday is because "He is risen just as He said". The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the reason the Body of Christ gathers Sunday after Sunday. This Sunday in particular we have a greater reason to gather as we celebrate the risen Lord Jesus Christ.
The enthusiasm of an Easter Sunday might just be enough to help turn a hardened sinner into a follower of Christ. Who have you attempted to influence to follow Christ? The scripture is clear that it is our responsibility to spread the good news to all the world. That needs to begin at home and then go to the ends of the earth. I hope to see all of Calvary's members this Sunday with their Bible in their hand, a smile on their face and a friend by their side. Thankful for Calvary, Pastor Don |
