Time marches on and it is hard to believe that today is the last day of August. What that means here in the Midwest is that fall is just around the corner. This means changes are coming. Today in Sedalia it is currently 93 degrees but we better enjoy the last few days of summer because soon it will be cool. Seems like someone is always complaining about the weather. I heard this little poem about complaining a few years ago that sums it up.
As a rule a man's a fool, When it's hot he wants it cool, When it's cool he wants it hot, Always wanting what it's not. If you want perfect weather then you are destined to be unhappy at one time or another. My philosophy is to enjoy what God has given us and deal with it. Some of the same people who tend to complain about the weather complain about other things in life as well. You can choose to be a whiner or a winner. It's up to you because it is all in your outlook. I'm thankful for the fall not because of the weather, although I've heard it is one of our better seasons, but because of the opportunities that it affords us for ministry. We have something special going on every month and I believe God is going to bless our efforts as we reach out and touch the world for Christ. We have two new part time staff members starting this week. Taylor Quinley will be our Director of Student Ministries and Michael Sproles will serve as our Music Director. I hope you will be here to welcome and support them. Yours for a Fantastic Fall, Pastor Don
