Calvary Connection
Every time I think I have seen it all God shows us something new and amazing. He continues to bring young people to Calvary CREW on Wednesday night, using those within the group to bring their friends and allowing them and us to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. This has resulted in lives changed for Jesus Christ as has been evident by baptism in the last few weeks. The youth team gives glory to God for the hard work the youth are doing and for your continued support of the youth activities. AWANA has concluded for this school year, but we want to remind everyone to continue to pray for every child and family involved in the AWANA program. While the summer time is full of activities, we still need to engage these families and VBS is one of the ways we try and stay connected to them. VBS begins in just one week (June 6-10) and we are looking forward to a awesome time of sharing the gospel with every Pre-K thru Adult. You can go to http://www.calvarybaptistsedalia.org/vbs-2022-registration.html to register or http://www.calvarybaptistsedalia.org/vbs-2022.html to find out more about VBS. There is a financial need for the youth, this summer (July 9-16) they will be headed to Rochester, MN to help a church plant, Grace City Church. We will be staying at Emmanuel Church in Rochester, MN. The cost per student is $70, if you would like to help by sponsoring a youth or two, just give your donation to the Calvary Designated Youth Fund. You can do this thru the regular offering or the tithe.ly App or our Online give site at http://www.calvarybaptistsedalia.org/online-giving.html. Also, our children thru youth will be headed to Camp InLow again this year (July 25-29), the cost of camp this year is $80. If you would like to help, send one of our kids to camp donate today thru the regular offering or our Online give site at http://www.calvarybaptistsedalia.org/online-giving.html, or the tithe.ly App. As always, the needs are great, but our God is greater and He can supply all of our needs. If we will trust in Him and Him alone, then nothing is impossible for Him. The Children’s and Youth ministries are growing because each of you see the need to share the gospel, to show God’s love, and to help the next generation understand the importance of having a close intimate relationship with God just as each of you do. Don’t forget Men’s Breakfast June 4th, at 8 am our guest speaker is Israel Baeza, the Eastern District Commissioner for the county of Pettis. I look forward to seeing all you men there. Thank you for your prayers, and continued support of these programs. Without both we would be losing an entire generation to the world. Let us always remember we are at war, a spiritual war, and if we lose, we lose soul for all eternity to hell. Remember the words of Paul, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil” (Ephesians 6:1-2, ESV).[1] Serving King Jesus with you, your humble servant, Associate Pastor Jonathan Wallenbeck [1] The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Eph 6:10–11.
